The Holy Wisdom Parish Latin Mass Community of St. Therese of Lisieux celebrates Mass daily in the Extraordinary form of the Roman Rite – that is, the Traditional Latin (or Tridentine) Mass. Father James W. Dolan is chaplain of the community.

Edward Kenna, R.I.P.

Edward Kenna, longtime member of our Latin Mass Community, died on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at age 92.

Mr. Kenna was buried from St. Boniface Church on Monday, July 21.

25 Years

Lest it pass unnoticed, June 11, 2014 marks the 25th anniversary of the return of the Traditional Latin Mass under the auspices of the Diocese of Pittsburgh.

Q&A about personal quasi-parish; survey delayed a week

Addressing the many questions raised in response to the June 1 letter on a proposed personal quasi-parish for the Latin Mass Community, a second “Questions and Answers” letter was distributed at Masses on June 8. Both letters can be found on the Upcoming Events & Other News page. As a result, the survey will now be taken on Sunday, June 15, at both Masses.

UPDATED: Consultative Questionnaire Sunday, June 15

[Update: the questionnaire has been delayed one week, to June 15.]

In a letter distributed at church on June 1, Fathers DiNardo and Dolan announced that all in attendance at Masses on Sunday, June 8 will be asked to complete a consultative questionnnaire. The subject: “your preference in establishing a quasi-parish [for the Latin Mass Community] here at Saint Boniface Church”

First Communion Class

We rejoice and we pray for our children who received our Blessed Lord for the first time on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Their names are: Benjamin Aul, Gretchen Bartz, Clare O’Connell, Gianna DePretis, John Paul Farah, Elsa Medonis, Sophia Sikora, Annalise Wrabley, Celine Young and David Zigarovich. May they remain close to the Lord all their lives.

Summer Schedule Changes

Beginning on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, the 6:00 PM Wednesday Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM until September 3, 2014, when it returns to 6:00 PM.
Beginning on First Friday, June 6, 2014 until First Friday, September 5, 2014, there will be no Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following the 7:00 PM Mass. The various prayers to the Sacred Heart will still be said after the Mass of 7:00 PM. The exception will be the First Friday of July, which is the Fourth of July, the Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 AM followed by the various prayers to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
